Au cours de ses travaux, il s\u2019est aper\u00e7u que le chanvre serait en mesure de faire diminuer le carbone atmosph\u00e9rique d\u2019une mani\u00e8re doublement plus efficace que celle des arbres. Par ailleurs, le chanvre permet \u00e9galement aux architectes de travailler en usant de biomat\u00e9riaux \u00e9cologiques\u00a0!<\/p>\n<h2>Le chanvre plus efficient que les arbres<\/h2>\n<p>Selon les travaux de Shah, le <a href=\"https:\/\/natureight.com\/fr\/\">chanvre<\/a> industriel serait sensiblement plus efficace que les arbres, car en pratique, il peut absorber entre 8 et 15 tonnes de CO\u00b2 par hectare de culture chaque ann\u00e9e. En comparaison, les arbres qui peuplent les for\u00eats ne peuvent capter qu\u2019entre 2 et 6 tonnes de CO\u00b2 par hectare et par ann\u00e9e. Ce score est d\u2019ailleurs approximatif, car il d\u00e9pend de l\u2019\u00e2ge des arbres, de leur g\u00e9olocalisation, de leur race, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Shah explique aussi que les bioplastiques et les mat\u00e9riaux confectionn\u00e9s \u00e0 partir de la plante de chanvre pr\u00e9sentent une tr\u00e8s faible teneur en carbone. En d\u2019autres termes, ces plantes pourraient servir un jour \u00e0 remplacer certains composites classiques, \u00e0 l\u2019instar de ceux en fibres de verre ou en aluminium.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ce contexte, il faut savoir que le Centre for Natural Material Innovation, membre du d\u00e9partement d\u2019architecture \u00e0 Cambridge, m\u00e8ne actuellement des recherches relatives aux biomat\u00e9riaux. L\u2019objectif de ces travaux serait de revoir la fa\u00e7on dont nous construisons, pour progressivement atteindre un objectif z\u00e9ro carbone.<\/p>\n<p>Les travaux de Shah portent \u00e9galement sur les bois d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie, le bambou et les composites en fibres naturelles, ainsi que le chanvre. Pour le chercheur, le chanvre repr\u00e9sente en effet \u00ab une culture polyvalente, qui offre des mat\u00e9riaux et des ressources sous de multiples formes.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Bon \u00e0 savoir<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0: le chanvre est une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de la plante Cannabis Sativa. Il est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par ses tr\u00e8s faibles niveaux de THC, surtout en comparaison des niveaux de la vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de la marijuana.<\/p>\n<h2>La plante du futur\u00a0?<\/h2>\n<p>Loin de se limiter \u00e0 son efficacit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure aux arbres pour lutter contre le CO\u00b2, le chanvre pourrait bien devenir une plante \u00e0 l\u2019importance cruciale dans l\u2019avenir. En effet, Shah stipule qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, le chanvre s\u2019utilise de plus en plus souvent pour la fabrication de bioplastiques, biocarburants, ou encore de produits \u00e0 base de CBD, tr\u00e8s renomm\u00e9s pour leurs nombreuses vertus sur l\u2019organisme humain et animal. Avec des fibres \u00e0 la fois rigides et bien solides qui constituent l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur de sa tige, le chanvre peut, entre autres, \u00eatre employ\u00e9 pour la fabrication de certaines pi\u00e8ces automobiles, de panneaux de rev\u00eatement, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Les panneaux de rev\u00eatement en bioplastiques de chanvre par exemple, n\u2019exigent que 15 \u00e0 60 % de l\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire aux traditionnels panneaux en aluminium.
